Youtube Vid-joes!

It's time for some Youtube Vid-joes!
(they're kinda like Sloppy Joes, but much more flavorful......)

this is like a random mix of stuff, mostly people singing stuff though......
hope thou enjoy-eth this!
------------------------------------------------
1. Douglas Miller- My Soul Has Been Anchored.

This song is like one of the gospel songs of my childhood. Just a timeless classic. I love Douglas Miller's voice, so full and rich. yeah.

2. Areatha Franklin - Touch My Body.

I found this mess on crunktastical.net. Now Areatha-ra , you know 1) you too old to singing this 2) don't NOBODY wanna touch yo body. It's bad enough Mariah Carey was singing this ish........uh-uh....

3. Great is the Lord- Dorinda Clark-Cole

I think outta all the Clark Sisters, I love Dorinda's voice the most. It's like raspy, yet strong. And this song just takes me higher, and higher....because He is great.

4. Pink- Stupid Girls

Pink makes fun of Beyonce. Hilarious, and interesting. Will Beyonce retaliate by dying her hair pink?....I don't know. We shall see.

5. 1 priest 1 nun reaction

I learned my lesson after 2 girls 1 cup. I will never watch this 1 priest 1 nun thing. But AfricanoBoi's reaction is too hilarious, I was cracking up like crazy. I'm still wondering why he just didn't  turn it off. His face at the end was really scary......

6. Jazmine Sullivan - "Home" @ age 11!

In the beginning she definitely sounded eleven but by the end I was like what?!. Those runs were ridiculous. I couldn't even imagine myself singing that good now. Chica got a gift.

That 'tis all.

Walking

I know this a really random subject, but this is what this blog is about I guess.
But this morning I was walking to class (yes I said morning 9:30 to be exact). And as I felt my body in that forward motion type movement, taking step after step, I started thinking about walking.

I began notice that other people around me were walking to places, also. And I started to think about people in the world who were walking also. And I started to think about how maybe some people were walking long distances or even short distances, or some people were walking trying to find food or water, others walking because they were lost and had no clue where they were going.

And then putting things in perspective, in the realm of all the people walking in the world simultaneously, I started to think how I was walking such as short distance, going to a almost meaningless event: class.

But then I thought how some people couldn't even walk, and some people were driving, or running. And I just  thought about how people travel and we all hustle and bustle to get to places that we find important to us.

And then I started to think about how we learn to walk at a very young age, and yet it is so influential in our daily lives, and some times you just don't think about walking, because it just something that you natural do.

I don't know why I thought about walking, but sometimes it feels good to walk, especially when you're happy. But other times, like when I'm tired, I don't want to walk at all. But walking just always gives this image of moving forward, it kinda like directly linked with  the concept of time, always moving forward.

so yeah, really random post, and just something to think about. so next time you're walking, think about walking and maybe the journey you're taking may not be as bad as thought or even as important.

Man, I'm too deep, sometimes I think I'm drowning in my own thoughts.

Old Drawings

I'll just post a couple (means like four or five), similar to the poems, but I think some of these drawing go even back to junior high. Not sure.

I wish I could've scanned them. But this pictures will just have to do.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(I call this one Dragon)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

(at the bottom it say "There is no Mr. Floberg. She just loves to be called Mrs.", btw date is 4/17/05)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(scary, but I like it)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(reminds me of the cartoon character Doug, so I call him Doug)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(my favorite of all time! I call him Dino, I think it pronounced D-no though)

That's it.
There's way more drawings, but I couldn't take pictures of them all.

Old Poem/Writings

So after doing accomplishing somethings on my list which currently hangs on my desk ( fixing my resume, editing my placement essay, starting and reading breakthrough collaborative application/process, working on the NCE Website), I remembered I brought this collection of old poem/writing/sketches/drawing from home. There are like mostly from high school but some go back to '04 (oh wait that's when I started high school) so they're all like occurred in high school.

Let's just say some of my drawing was really incredible (should be above this one), but one thing that disappointed me was my poems-writings, like most started off good but then went bad, like real bad. some were like really extreme, like I hated a person, (I wrote the words I hate you). which I don't remember why i felt that way, but I was really scary while reading it.

But anyways I decided to post some of my favorite good poem-writings this here blog. I did have to fix some of them, like I can guess what I wanted to say, but it's not exactly what I wrote, I guess I'll put those in [].
Also if ya can, read these aloud, I think it helps.
----------------------------------------------
1.
my time has expired
the clock has stopped
there is no more sound of the "tick-tock"

the sun has went down
and will never rise again
flowers [have] die[d] and ferociously [been] blown by the wind

heart beats are gone
pulses are no more
the blood [has] stop flowing; life is a bore

the earth has stop rotating
and everything stands dead-still
yet, my glass is half-filled
through it all.

-----------------------------------------
2.
I am
what I be
and forever I'll be that
I'll always be the I
that sometimes changes
to u but u don't define
me, or I for that matter.
'cause I am
whatever I want to be
and that will never change
I'll always be me when
u and them sometimes say
no to I, or me for that matter
I'm here to show I'm
forever eternally, always
the person I am which is me.

-------------------------------------

3.

I wonder and think
everyday: What if the sky was pink?
or What if people were small?
like ants. And the ants would be tall.
Would the [world] change as we know it?
Or would humans be the same ?
There's no way I could possibly get,
Get [an] answer for this game
Cuz I think I'm way too lame.
I think my parents r the ones to blame.

---------------------------------------

4.

I'm cool
Ur cool
We're cool
Isn't that cool?
Or is that not cool enough?
Am I cool enough?
R u cool enough?
Is that enough?
Enough for this poem?
Is this the end of [the] poem?
or just the beginning of the poem?
Ok, no more poem.
B-cuz I'm cool.
Ur cool
We're cool
Isn't that cool?
Isn't it..........

------------------------------------

5.

If today is new and
yesterday is old. And if today
is a continuation of yesterday
is today really new?
so wouldn't we call it
just a day?
-Words of Wisdom from a Wise person

----------------------------------------

6.

Three-hundred sixty-five days times nineteen years equals six thousand eight-hundred fifty-five days that I have wondered and journey[ed] to become me, but only in the last ninety-one days [have I] lost it and [now I am] searching again, and [I] just can't seem to tap back into the way I felt, the [way] I was. But now as a new three-hundred and sixty-five days approach, labelled as two-thousand and eight, I will continue to search until me is found and I can start whole again: One hundred percent; three-hundred sixty degrees, two-pi radians. Hopefully one day.

Oh 6 favorites, Lucky number 6.
that's it.

Hey, hey, hey, hey

What's up, world? (omg! I'm talking to the world right now)
here's updation on things...

Dreamgirls on Live and on Stage

WAS AMAZING! yes! I loved it.
Effie was played by some lady who was in the lion king musical Moya Angela (i looked these up after the fact)
Deena by some girl from American Idol  Syesha Mercado
Curtis played by Chaz something or another......Chaz Lamar Shepherd

but the best character (I don't know if it was the way it was written or just his portrayal) was Jimmy (Eddie Murphy's character) played by some guy Chester Gregory . He was so hilarious, but he could actually sing, like really, as could everyone in the musical though, but he was basically star (after Effie of course).

I found this ten times better than movie, like there's things you can do in a live production that you just can't do in a movie because of time, money, and general presence of a tv. and there were so many things that I never got in the movie that totally made sense in the musical (weird).

speaking of the term musical, this was an actually MUSICAL. there were very few actual lines. and even things they could have probably said was sung. and I liked it all!.
I kinda want to see it again.....but that requires money (and ME probably going by myself...cuz people are lames)

k3 STRIKE UPDATION

apparently the teachers and the district have come to a tenative agreement, they will vote tomorrow on whether it will become the new contract. if so, class will began again on Monday (i'm so jealous a whole week off of school.)

Top 4 Reasons Why you don't scare black people

so basically you gon get "KNOCKED THE F#$% OUT!" as Smokey would say.

(Let this be a warning to anyone trying ot scare me, I am a black person and will therefore probably react in a similar fashion to those black people in the above video )

alright that's it....
Have a great day/weekend/week/month/year (whenever is the next time I update or you happen to read my blog again)

What's going on in K3???

So today began the teacher's strike in Kankakee School District #111 (<---can I just saw I always loved 111 thing it kinda goes with the KKK (whoa) in Kankakee...idk)

This apparently the 15th time they have tried to settle this contract dispute, I'm not really sure what the problem is specifically or financially, but it's interesting to see a strike actually go down. I kinda wish I was back home now so I can support the teachers (really I just wanna see some stuff go down).
But also I do really hope that they come to some sort of an agreement, because about 5000 students are not in school, and you know,  they should be, but we will see.
you can check out photos of teacher picketing here (yes a facebook group)

Also if you didn't hear, apparently about a week ago, 3 students from the K3 Junior High got tasered by a police officer, now a lawsuit is in the works. Guess what the lawsuit is based on? RACISM. This doesn't make sense considering how it supposedly all went down. You can read more about it  here cuz I don't feel like explaining it.

Yes K3 is finally making the news! If it was only good News.......

My question is WHAT IS GOING IN K3??? (specifically education-wise). Ever since I decided I wanted to teach, I questioned whether I would return back to my hometown, the way its looks now with all these financial troubles, I mean if you can't pay teachers correctly, why should I even apply for a job there? But you know I really love k3 and that's my home, and the students definitely need help.  I just don't know, so the debate lingers on. I guess I won't have to really make a decision until Spring Quarter next year. Ha.

PEACE & CHICKEN GREASE!

How you doing? (Wendy Williams' voice)

Response: I'm doing good....so many things to update about.....

Let's make it a LIST!

-I feel back, I feel like last week I was kinda outta it, but now I feel back.

- I finally, Finally, got to the white post-it notes in my post-it notes stack!!!! OMG!

- Dreamgirls, the Musical, is coming to Chicago, and I'm going to see it tomorrow. so excited. I love the movie even after watching it everyday for a whole week when it came out on DVD. Ever since I saw it  wanted to see it on stage. Ah. Unfortnately Jennifer Hudson nor Beyonce will probably be in it, but hey.

- NU Basketball. On Past Saturday we won against #6 Purdue, Awesome Game! Unfortunately we just lost against #21 Ohio State. The 'CATS are now 13-5 total and 2-4 in the Big Ten. Will we make the Tourney this year? Only God knows.

-MLK Day. Was good, it basically took up my whole day. NCE sung for the morning service, with Ramsey Lewis, who was pretty awesome at the piano (although he talked a little too much). Then I went and saw a staged reading of Palmer Park, a really interesting play about interaction of white and black families in Detroit, even though not the full play, it was just as powerful. Then after a quick bite to eat and nap,I attended the Candlelight Vigil.
It's kinda of Sad that most students don't really participate in the events, but I doubt I would've participate much if I wasn't in the choir. soooo I totally understand.

-Little Shop of Horrors. Did not tryout. I know, right.
I'm gonna be so mad at myself in 2 weeks or maybe not. It's alright I definitely have to check the musical out, or I'll be really sad. yeha.....

so that's my life, things are going  towards the line of hectic(ness) really soon, but you know I'll be alright, I did it for 2 years. Bring it Junior Year.....

Random Videos = Youtube Mania.

A collection of videos, I feel all should watch lest they die of boredom, schoolwork, the sound of flesh-eating bacteria, or any other thing you can die from these days.....

Enjoy!

=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=``=`==`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=`=

1. Byron Cage- I Can't Hold it.

This song takes me directly to church.I'm almost tempted to buy it. I love it, but that's no surprise, cuz Byron Cage is one of my favorite gospel artist.

2. Theremin - Clara Rockmore plays the Swan

so in a class I'm taking entitled "Introduction to Music Technology",  we have learn about musical technology type instrument. This is one of them, but the thing is you don't physically touch something to play it.
It's pretty awesome. Chick looks SUPER-intense though.

3. Gnarles Barkley "Crazy" Theremin Jam.

This is so awesome. If you don't know, this is probably one of my favorite songs of all times. I forgot how much I loved this song. Anywayz it pretty kool that you can play like anything on a Theremin.

4. Billy Rivers and Angelic Voice of Faith "Thank God for Saving Me"

This is just a random song from a channel I'm subscribed to. I really like this song,  though. Also takes me to church.

5. American Idol- Larry Platt- Pants of the Ground.

Yeah, so I don't really watch American Idol anymore, but apparently this came on last night (you already know the auditions be bringin some crazy people). I'm mad at how he was dancing. that was just ridiculous.

PEACE & CHICKEN GREASE!

Updation about stuff and OTHER stuff..

sorry, I've kinda been negelecting my blog........
just haven't felt the need to post things as I usually do...
so I don't.......

but updation on me...
I am doing well. 2nd week of class. Went by pretty quick, suprisingly.
Gotta lots of things to do.
....well not really.....
I mean... I don't know

Other things that have happened since the last time [something goes here]:

Haiti. I feel so  sorry for all the devastating thing that have happened. But I'm glad to see that relief is coming their way.

NU B-Ball. 'CATS lost again Wisconsin. It was pretty close game until (there's alway an until) it wasn't. We are 12-4 overall. 1-3 in the Big Ten.

Sickness of the Stomach. Yeha I ate burger called the MAX. hence throw up and stomach pains and aches of the sort. Never do that again.

Looking forward to:

The Weekend. My friend from Holland (her name is not Susan) has been visiting for the past (2?, not sure how to count this) week(s).  I hope we are doing something BIG and fun, or something..........we'll see.

MLK Day. Get to perform with NCE and Ramsey Lewis (he's no Mavis Staples) but still pretty kool. Should be  a fun day.

that's about it.
I'll probably do a Youtube Mania Type thingy.......I don't know....

A Day of Change...

no, I didn't do anything drastic like cut off all my hair.
but today, just had me thinking alot about change

how one minute you can be one way, and then the next something crazy
can happen which will turn your life upside down.
or how you can feel one way for a long time, but then feel the opposite outta the blue.

it's funny cuz everything changes:
weather, sky, time, LIFE, etc.
I think life is all about changes, all about movement
I mean very few things are static.
And even the things we think won't change, do.

but then why are we scared of change, when things around us are changing all time,
if that's what life about, why be scared?. And the funny thing about change,
is you have no control over it. yes you can change things, but the change that really affects
is the kind that runs freely. The kind that just disrupts the routine.

Things must change. That's just the way it is.

"And we're the three best friends that anyone could have! "

it's from THE HANGOVER

......I watched it again last night.
Love this movie to the tenth power! (that looks like this: (LOVE)^10 )
it's so funny....
if you haven't seen it, it's a must. I mean it'll definitely make you laugh or something of the sorts.

Today was/is 3rd day of class.
and I think I'm officially back in to it, well at least a lot more.
Hence I think I have began to procrastinate, but I can't help it, it's only the first week.
I've put things off, but I will eventually get to them, like tomorrow, or the day after that, or the day after that.
but umzzz

I don't really know what to update about (per Usual....)
I guess my life is better than the Sad Cowbell Girl.

that face makes me feel so much better about myself.
hahahahaha yeha that's so wrong.

BUT ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, ummmmmmmmmmmmm
idk.
Have you ever thought about rainbows?
Or unicorns?
Or baby whales?
Or asparagus?
Or toliet paper?
Or the Indivisible Land of Oz?
Or blue grass?
Or flying midgets?

If so, you might be CRAZY...........

yeha that it all.
Holla at cha boi.

Classes Started Back Today = Ugh!

Yeha.
Not happy about that.
But hey what can I do when I go to Northwestern (transfer??, not at this point)

I had one class today, so it's slowly easing me back in. Tomorrow though is gonna be the KILLER ( and by killer I mean murderer and by murderer I mean the bringer of death). I have 3 classes tomorrow (though usually I will have 4, NO Discussion Section this week!)

Besides classes this quarter I will be doing NCE stuff again (this time I get to be in the concert!)
This includes publicity and the website, and this will go one until the end of the quarter. (This is the point where I tell myself I'm back on the grind <--whatever that means!)

I am hoping (which means I better) try out for little shop of horrors this month. so that should be exciting.

This should be a good quarter though. I'm gonna try to laugh, smile more, and focus on the positive, no matter how crappy I feel or  the day has gone. Why make my life a miserable hell, when I can be happy for being just ALIVE
for REALZ!

anywayz.
I don't have much else to say.
Look at this picture and laugh.

 - Fuck you Gravity

(The Caption is "FUCK YOU GRAVITY!" hilarious.)

PEACE & CHICKEN GREASE!!!!!

I have seen you since last year!!!!

Sorry I haven't update until now.
New Years Day I was busy at the football game (IN TAMPA FLORIDA!) watching the 'CATS
face off against the Auburn tigers. Sad to say :( 1 million times, that the 'CATS lost another bowl game. but that alright I guess it was our time. Even though it definitely seemed like it, how many opportunities we had to win.

I had a wonderful time on the trip, though. I have stories to tell for the next couple of weeks. I just had a huge blast, I don't remember me laughing so much in a 4 day period since I was probably 13 or something.

I definitely did somethings I have never done before:

  • Walked on the most beautiful beach I have seen (Clearwater Beach, omg!)
  • Marched barefoot &  on a beach.
  • Saw, Touched a live blowfish.
  • Seen an ocean/ a huge body of water
  • "Swam" (ya'll know I can't swim) in Gulf of Mexico
  • Seen real live flamingoes
  • Listened to so much smooth jazz, until my ears fell off
  • Only ate 5 pieces pizza and got uber-full.
  • Wore a purple poncho
  • Watched the Hangover (funny movie)
  • Marched in crazy parade with people screaming everywhere
  • some other stuff I can't really remember
I really enjoyed myself.
Here's a couple photos of florida's beautiful ness.

That is all.
btw. HAPPY NEW YEARS!! HAPPY 2010!
PEACE & CHICKEN GREASE!!
