A poem about growing up

I found this in my notebook, don't know when I wrote, prolly the beginning of the quarter...
but along with my last post I think it's rather appropriate...

Enjoys :-)
-------

Growing up, it's no joke
I remember when I was young
I thought it would be dope
to live on your own, no parental control,
but I realized growing up means being bold
stepping out on your own, facing the unknown,
Trusting in only yourself and God for strength, preseverance and pursuit.
Now yeah living on my own may be cool, but is nothing like those days of school.
When worries where far away and responsibilities were days, miles, centuries away.
I envy the young, so naive, and unnoticing of all stress and worth forthcoming
But then I just realized my time has passed, no fun left anymore for me.
I gotta grow up, I gotta live, and somehow still be free.
I can do it though, even when it may hurt, even when I may be in pain.
I can grow up, Move on without much strain.
so I take a deep breath, exhale slowly, jump on to my next journey.

PEACE & CHICKEN GREASE!!

Last day in may.

Um, Today's the last day in may. tomorrow is June 1st, but I'm sure you know that.

This serves as important to me because that means there are 17 days left in my collegiate life.
Graduation (and real life) shall soon be here. and although I will be really happy to be done with classes
and assignments, problems sets, papers, lectures, discussion sections, office hours, grades, I'll miss everything that  Northwestern as offered me, the people, the experiences, they were truly amazing. This was really the greatest time of my life, and I hope it only gets better from here. It has to.

But only about four (or five) things stand in my way until that glorious day:
Philosophy assignment Due tomorrow
Philosophy of Ed Paper Due Monday
Reading in Content Area due Thursday
Math Paper (yeah I know) due Wednesday next week
Math final (may or may not have to take) also next Wednesday...

But good thing I'll be done with classes on Thursday so that will be a MAJOR milestone as well.

The future looks bright, i mean my life is totally ahead of me. And I hope it's ready, cuz I'm not (haha).           But I will be in time. Yeah I'm scared and nervous about how things are going to turn out at work, living on my own, bills and loans and stuff. I feel like I shouldn't be that worried because it gonna work out. I'm just realizing those days dependence and kinda-sorta dependence that college gave are winding down. I can do it though. so I'm not that discouraged....

......besides me being worried about the future and graduation and such,

I had my last Dillo Day, it was great. Not as thrown as last year, I actually remembered stuff. Bad thing I saw some of my students from Evanston, which  totally kinda ruined my mood, but I think it's all good...I had a great day..

I wanted to babble on some more, but  I just don't feel like typing no more. But I think I'm definitely going to keep a blog/records of my first year of teaching, either here or on my tumblr, which ever easier for me to do or I feel like is necessary, but that's far from now.....

so I'll be busy getting at those four/five things. Going home this weekend, which I haven't been to all quarter, I just didn't want to, but it should be fun to see the Fam.

bam.
that's it.
I'll give a random picture...just cuhz

Taking a Break...Again

From studying for this last final of my junior year, Geometry,
just to reflect on this school year.

one word, well three, okay let's just not do that.

but if I could describe this year briefly:
Awesomeness. So much better. Stressful, but fun.

I went  through ALOT this year (the Butt catastrophe incident, this research methods class, this quarter in general, and other stuff I probably blocked from my memory cause they were so mean and evil)

but I had alot of good times that come to mind instantly (staying at heather's for b-day celebration, drumline serenade, my 21st birthday, alamo bowl, NCE concert w/ D Lawrence, Dillo Day, and so many other times of laughter and joy)

I also feel like my people network increased tons-ly (<---yeah i making up words) this year. I just kinda remember myself as a freshman coming in & not knowing anybody, and even by the end of my freshman I still really didn't know anyone, but now a day barely goes by with me running into people I know, stopping and having mini update sessions. so it's pretty awesome. it just feels like I'm finally coming into that senior Northwestern-expert-y role thing.

I really do think this was the best year yet, and I just can't wait to see the craziness, stress, and laughter that senior year brings.

Breakthrough Updates.

  • I just realized also this time next week, I'll be in Colorado, finishing up my first day with Breakthrough. So excited!
  • I Finally did find out my housing, I'm staying the Clarks (that's basically all I know).
  • I'm probably gonna blog about my Breakthrough experience so I can keep everyone updated, it probably won't be here though, I'm thinking about making a whole 'nother blog just for it. That said don't know how much I will update here in the summer.

that's all

Cleaning out my closet......

I Cleant (<-- is that a word?) my room, (my mom was making everyone throw stuff away that we're not using anymore...which kinda annoyed me...)
good thing I found interesting things in my closet and such:

old story i'd written in 7th grade "my brand new home": it was about me (well not me but a character, who was essentially me. I didn't give the character a name which make me even more conclude that it was supposed to represent me). and the character moves to a city called burbank and is scared about moving to a new place basically (he has dreams where everyone in burbank are monsters, idk). it was kool to just read a story I had written, no matter the blatant grammatical errors and weird writing.

It just got me thinking (here's the teacher in me analzying the student) about myself. Like why would I write a story like this, like certain parts were defintely me, but other's weren't, was that what I wanted to be. i'm not really sure. Junior high is all a blur I guess....

Bop it extreme, remote possibilities: it's like looking at an old picture. these game brought up memories of just fun with my family. And how I have so many games i don't play with anymore.

box of cards called history of america: bascially it like a box of cards (duh). with different topics about American history. It Ranges from wars, entertainment, people, places. And I think this was just example of how I wanted to learn things at a young age. It also shows why I know so much random stuff day. I know It's not a total miracle that I'm a genius (so people say). Like there was things that defintely propelled me.

As you can see, finding this things in my closet & elsewhere, just got me thinking about my childhood (and how freaking old I am!). I mean I had a good one, and I'm thankful for it.
yeha......memories......
