James and the Giant Peach
by Roald Dahl..........
you ask why, huh? well its for one of my classes,
we are to write about a children's book, i chose this one
because I had never read it before, only saw the movie....
very similar to the books actually.....can't say that either is better....
writing this paper though...i find this book to be actually really deep...
lots of metaphors and stuff........
i dont know if you would want to read this....
i would recommend watching the movie though
it's pretty awesome........i think Dahl is just awesome..
here's a clip:
if you didnt know he also wrote Charlie & the Chocolate Factory,
recently (??) remade with Johnny Depp, which I really didn't enjoy in comparison to the original...maybe cuz im so used to it....Depp has a good portrayls though of Wonka....but kinda
ruined it to me, but it's good in its on right...............

So this one time I got stuck on an elevator...
well actually it was this past weekend
on saturday about midnight...i think.....
let's just say circa midnight-ish....
me and some friends...got stuck on an elevator...
it was a very nice elevator tho suprising...very sleek, shiny, and black......
we were goin to the 7th floor, lucky eh, and some how some way
got stuck b/t the 6th and the 7thfloors...i mean it happens right?
well twenty minutes passed until we got off, not bad right........
but alot happened in that time........
crying, laughing, singing (old negro spirituals, gospel, random, and etc), story telling, playing of Big Booty (with people outside the elevator also mind you, amazing), and also just totally standing in silence just waiting for the time when we would reach land (actually the floor)......
very exciting experience though......my first time actually being stuck on an elevator.......wasn't scared at all though......it was fun....i was just waiting for someone to have a baby...cuz that always happens on tv....but thanks goodness no one was pregnant....hahahaha
it did remind me though of this video i saw entitled "Holy Elevator", where these people sing a song totally about the holy elevator, asking Jesus to take them higher on the elevator check out it....kinda hilarious....
but ummm
RANDOM PICTURE TIME!!!
(all the children scream)
(huge pile of bananas....mmmm)

So you know who I wanna see in concert
Before I die???
Jazmine Sullivan!!
she's coming to chicago like sometimes in feburary, the 27th to be exact, at the Chicago Theatre, she's touring with Ne-yo (whatev),
If you don't know who she is you'll soon find out (cuz im gonna tell you....)
her first single "Need you Bad", was a hit on the radio in the summer, still pretty hot now too though.......her second single "Bust Your Windows" is a pretty awesome song, talks about busting up cars and stuff...pretty kool, check out the video:
Bust Your Windows - Jazmine Sullivan
(wonder why there's no busting of cars in this mug, man, kinda disappointing).
She's been compared to likes of Mary J. and the wonderful Lauryn Hill, but I think she has a very unique sound, more to me like gospel singer Kim Burrell, very deep full voice...just love her....
anywayz I wanna see her in concert before I die...but I defintely got to get me some mulah....
and I need to find somebody to go with me (preferrably another Jazmine Sulllivan fan, not somebody who just heard "her song that one day and thought it was nice", but you know it really doesn't matter).... really i wanna go....i need to go....hopefully I will go....

Welcome to the Movies (let's go see the stars)
The Devil Wears Prada

recently saw this movie....great movie...
Meryl Streep was pretty amazing......I just realized though that
there is only one black person in this film really........
but other than that I really enjoyed the film. Makes you think
of the stuff we do for our careers (as if I have one yet), what changes we are
willingly to go through.....just a good film..you should see if you havent
(even though i'm sure you have)
I also "watched" The Illusionist ,
which is fairly dull in comparison to the greatness that be's the Prestige,
(starring Hugh Jackman, the Batman guy (Christian Bale), the movie is about something..... a magician (illusionist??) who does all this crazy stuff, with souls and stuff, and he's got this childhood sweetheart, forbidden love....
let me just say you should probably watch this one before you watch the Prestige you'll be fairly disappointed if you do it the other way........people though do like this one better....but whatev....
you judge....
u already have my thoughts on it......
