Wow it's pretty much over....

College life.
I got Senior Week left now to celebrate with friends,  so that should be fun times.
But it hit me a couple of days ago while all the undergraduates were leaving...and I realized I was still here.
I'm a senior and this is the end....
and it really hit me today, as I was going through papers and stuff deciding what to keep, what to throw away, this is the end, man. I almost busted out crying a couple times, but I'm good...

I have SO many memories at this university, met so many people, done so many things, changed as a person a bizillion times, like I can't put in words how integral my college experience was to helping me learn about the world and myself, it is truly a amazing experience. I'm such a different and stronger person than I was a freshman coming in. It's crazy when I think back to my first times at NU, wow, things were different then...

But luckily, I have something to look forward to coming in the fall. I get to follow my passion. To be teacher, so that should be fun and challenging, to say the least. I just found out (for now) I'll be teaching 2 courses Geom H and 2 courses of Algebra 2 with a support class, a total of 5, so basically my student teaching classes, which should be fun[more than fun, but I don't really have the words to describe it]. I'm definitely excited for the chance to have my own class, my own students for an entire year (of course I'm scared, but more excited). Also I have orientation on Wednesday next week, called ETHS 101, so that should be really fun and get me uber-excited. I can't believe this either, like I'm literally gonna be high school math teacher. This is the time.

so many things happening in my life. This is definitely a closing of one chapter and the opening of another. I am truly blessed. Thank you God.
With this post, I just thought would take the time, while I have it, to step back and just look and reflect, but this upcoming week is senior week, so I'm surely gonna enjoy myself, enjoy my last times on this campus as a student with my friends...Then it's graduation.

oh speaking of which, I'm going to be the banner carrier for SESP at University Commencement. Pretty cool huh? I think so. I have to attend some meeting Tuesday next week, then at SESP rehearsal talk to the whole class about the commencement, seems pretty cool. And I proudly do it because I love SESP,  which definitely made my experience a great one as well.

so yeah. I'm just glad I made the choice to come to Northwestern, although I would've done somethings differently, not many, I have learned so much that I really wouldn't trade anything for those experiences.
AH. Let's go 'Cats.

Last day in may.

Um, Today's the last day in may. tomorrow is June 1st, but I'm sure you know that.

This serves as important to me because that means there are 17 days left in my collegiate life.
Graduation (and real life) shall soon be here. and although I will be really happy to be done with classes
and assignments, problems sets, papers, lectures, discussion sections, office hours, grades, I'll miss everything that  Northwestern as offered me, the people, the experiences, they were truly amazing. This was really the greatest time of my life, and I hope it only gets better from here. It has to.

But only about four (or five) things stand in my way until that glorious day:
Philosophy assignment Due tomorrow
Philosophy of Ed Paper Due Monday
Reading in Content Area due Thursday
Math Paper (yeah I know) due Wednesday next week
Math final (may or may not have to take) also next Wednesday...

But good thing I'll be done with classes on Thursday so that will be a MAJOR milestone as well.

The future looks bright, i mean my life is totally ahead of me. And I hope it's ready, cuz I'm not (haha).           But I will be in time. Yeah I'm scared and nervous about how things are going to turn out at work, living on my own, bills and loans and stuff. I feel like I shouldn't be that worried because it gonna work out. I'm just realizing those days dependence and kinda-sorta dependence that college gave are winding down. I can do it though. so I'm not that discouraged....

......besides me being worried about the future and graduation and such,

I had my last Dillo Day, it was great. Not as thrown as last year, I actually remembered stuff. Bad thing I saw some of my students from Evanston, which  totally kinda ruined my mood, but I think it's all good...I had a great day..

I wanted to babble on some more, but  I just don't feel like typing no more. But I think I'm definitely going to keep a blog/records of my first year of teaching, either here or on my tumblr, which ever easier for me to do or I feel like is necessary, but that's far from now.....

so I'll be busy getting at those four/five things. Going home this weekend, which I haven't been to all quarter, I just didn't want to, but it should be fun to see the Fam.

bam.
that's it.
I'll give a random picture...just cuhz

Time Keeps on Slippin...

...in to the future!!!!
In about 30 mins it'll be September 2010. Wow. Where as the time gone? Craziness.
And hopefully in 3 days I'll be back in the E-town chatting it up with friends. But that'll come later.

Let's focus on things I've done in the past 3 weeks, back from the CO:

  • Ate food
  • Slept in my amazing Fullsized Bed
  • Went to Dentist
  • Played Sims
  • Watched TV (Clean House, Everybody Hates Chris, BB, list goes on)
  • Thought about BKD
  • Went Shopping
  • Driving
  • Facebooked/Emailed
  • Sung songs
  • Called my Brother a 'Bub'
  • Obtained Driver's License
Now let's pay close attention to this last bullet point. (sigh of relief, smiles), FINALLY! After many years of hardwork and dedication  laziness and procrastination, I got my driver's license. Now the DMV isn't a place I hate or dread going to. I woke up early this morning, went there and took the driving test. It was SO easy! I felt uber-comfortable, and everything just seemed to go right during the test , it was amazing! When I think about all the struggles I've had with this driving thing, it's pretty great to finally be able to drive w/o having my parents or adult in the car. Which I did get to do today, of course, and it's so different being in a car by yourself, I really don't have to care about how I'm driving per se, cuz I really don't care about certain things like coming to a complete stop. It makes me feel like a real adult and more in control which is great I suppose.

But the only problem is I don't have my own car. Soooooooooo, I'll probably only drive when  I come home, which is unfortunate, but hey do what ya gotta do. My mom says she's gonna try and get me a car, but who knows what's gonna happen. But I will have to get a car eventually.

As I said a few post ago, I'm really excited to get back to my last year of college! Can't believe this is gonna be it! Last year wow. I mean although it doesn't feel like it's been 4 years, I can definitely see it's been 4 years, I mean I'm not the same person, I don't hang out with the same people, everythings just different. I've been places, met tons of people, done many, many crazy things and it's just been great.

So um, that's really all I had to say, idk

Read's to go...

read: red-s tah go (as in "ready to go")

Been home for sometime, almost 2 weeks, and I'm ready to head back to good ol' e-town.
It's been nice being home and all, seeing the fam, and the familarity, but I'm SO Bored.
Nothing here changes. On the surface things change, like the furniture and the fact that there's kool-aid back in the house, but it still the same folks and same interactions. Nothing has changed. which I guess is a good thing, ya know with stability and such, but at this point in my life, I've had enough of the same ol' same ol'.

or maybe it had something with me not going home doing spring quarter at NU, then coming home for like 4 days, heading off to denver, basically living by myself out there for 2 months, then heading back to Illinois, i guess where I now have to rely on people, where in denver and at NU, i'm depending on myself mostly. Which I can say I enjoy, i like the freedom the independence.

which is why I'm looking  forward to senior year so much. So much happening!
the Big Thing: Student Teaching, WHEW! as I said I'll be at ETHS, which I thinks gonna be really awesome, my mentor teachers already seem pretty awesome, although we've only communicated by email.

Next thing(s): NUMB and NCE, it's my last year with these organization and I'm really excited about both. NUMB, will have 23 trumpets this year! So excited about this. This means maybe like 8 per part, where as the past three years we had only 5 per part. Major Development! And in NCE i'll be Treasurer, even though this will be hectic position, I'm excited about it and the upcoming 40th anniversary, it's gonna be pretty awesomeness.

But with both of these organization, I'm a senior, so people are defintiely gonna be looking up to me, asking questions about stuff,  I just think it's pretty kool to finally be back at the top of the experience chain again. And plus I get to the things seniors do, ya know. Ahhh it's gonna be amazing year!

Next things: Promote 360 and Work. Unfortnately these two things fall last for me, even I love P360 so much, and I love the things we are able to do within SESP, and work I mean that's money. But I have to fit these in somewhere most def this quarter as well.

And including classes, that's a total of 6 things I'm juggling this quarter. So I think it's gonna be pretty crazy. But my guess is it's not gonna be as bad as I'd imagine. I mean one thing I learned this summer about myself I always expect the worst thing possible, but then nothing is ever that bad. As with BT, I had no idea what to expect, but I just imagine stuff being really crazy and me feeling all loner-ish and stuff, which in fact it wasn't that bad. I can say there was only a couple of times I felt really alone, but those were really random times.

Anywayz I'm looking so forward to senior year. I'm excited to be done, and I'm so glad God has brought me this far, like when I think back to freshman year, it's just amazing I made it this far. And I'm not through. More to come.

Taking a Break...Again

From studying for this last final of my junior year, Geometry,
just to reflect on this school year.

one word, well three, okay let's just not do that.

but if I could describe this year briefly:
Awesomeness. So much better. Stressful, but fun.

I went  through ALOT this year (the Butt catastrophe incident, this research methods class, this quarter in general, and other stuff I probably blocked from my memory cause they were so mean and evil)

but I had alot of good times that come to mind instantly (staying at heather's for b-day celebration, drumline serenade, my 21st birthday, alamo bowl, NCE concert w/ D Lawrence, Dillo Day, and so many other times of laughter and joy)

I also feel like my people network increased tons-ly (<---yeah i making up words) this year. I just kinda remember myself as a freshman coming in & not knowing anybody, and even by the end of my freshman I still really didn't know anyone, but now a day barely goes by with me running into people I know, stopping and having mini update sessions. so it's pretty awesome. it just feels like I'm finally coming into that senior Northwestern-expert-y role thing.

I really do think this was the best year yet, and I just can't wait to see the craziness, stress, and laughter that senior year brings.

**********
Breakthrough Updates.

  • I just realized also this time next week, I'll be in Colorado, finishing up my first day with Breakthrough. So excited!
  • I Finally did find out my housing, I'm staying the Clarks (that's basically all I know).
  • I'm probably gonna blog about my Breakthrough experience so I can keep everyone updated, it probably won't be here though, I'm thinking about making a whole 'nother blog just for it. That said don't know how much I will update here in the summer.

that's all

Dorm Life...

is kool, but in actuality it sucks.
so many limitations not enough freedom.
but I'm not complaining I'm so glad to be outta the Kank.
But I wish it wasn't so cold in the E, wait I meant the D, but that wouldn't make sense at all.....nevermind......

anywayz I'm back in the dormitory. My room is larger than last year, probably cuz it's a total different dorm.
It's pretty kool. I'm looking forward to having a great year (a totally getting trashed every weekend..hahahah jk). I only got two year left (YES) so I mi'es well (that's ebonics for might as well) enjoy 'em.

cuz soon I'll be teaching some bad ass kids how figure out x, and quadratic equations and such (idk)......and def won't be as fun as college life..

oh yeha. NU football, we won against Eastern Michgan (barely, 27-24). WTF? what was going on. I'm hoping and praying the 'Cats come back crazy (and I mean CRAZY!) against Syracuse (whose mascot in an Orange or some shit like that..... see...)
orangemen.jpg (435×450)

(Wtf is this? a basketball...and any orange that has feet is just weird)
But it's an away game so that makes it difficult. We'll see though.....

ummmmmmmmmmmm
yeha that's about it.
