How you doing? (Wendy Williams' voice)
Let's make it a LIST!
-I feel back, I feel like last week I was kinda outta it, but now I feel back.
- Dreamgirls, the Musical, is coming to Chicago, and I'm going to see it tomorrow. so excited. I love the movie even after watching it everyday for a whole week when it came out on DVD. Ever since I saw it wanted to see it on stage. Ah. Unfortnately Jennifer Hudson nor Beyonce will probably be in it, but hey.
- NU Basketball. On Past Saturday we won against #6 Purdue, Awesome Game! Unfortunately we just lost against #21 Ohio State. The 'CATS are now 13-5 total and 2-4 in the Big Ten. Will we make the Tourney this year? Only God knows.
-MLK Day. Was good, it basically took up my whole day. NCE sung for the morning service, with Ramsey Lewis, who was pretty awesome at the piano (although he talked a little too much). Then I went and saw a staged reading of Palmer Park, a really interesting play about interaction of white and black families in Detroit, even though not the full play, it was just as powerful. Then after a quick bite to eat and nap,I attended the Candlelight Vigil.
It's kinda of Sad that most students don't really participate in the events, but I doubt I would've participate much if I wasn't in the choir. soooo I totally understand.
-Little Shop of Horrors. Did not tryout. I know, right.
I'm gonna be so mad at myself in 2 weeks or maybe not. It's alright I definitely have to check the musical out, or I'll be really sad. yeha.....
so that's my life, things are going towards the line of hectic(ness) really soon, but you know I'll be alright, I did it for 2 years. Bring it Junior Year.....

Updation about stuff and OTHER stuff..
just haven't felt the need to post things as I usually do...
so I don't.......
but updation on me...
I am doing well. 2nd week of class. Went by pretty quick, suprisingly.
Gotta lots of things to do.
....well not really.....
I mean... I don't know
Other things that have happened since the last time [something goes here]:
Haiti. I feel so sorry for all the devastating thing that have happened. But I'm glad to see that relief is coming their way.
NU B-Ball. 'CATS lost again Wisconsin. It was pretty close game until (there's alway an until) it wasn't. We are 12-4 overall. 1-3 in the Big Ten.
Sickness of the Stomach. Yeha I ate burger called the MAX. hence throw up and stomach pains and aches of the sort. Never do that again.
Looking forward to:
The Weekend. My friend from Holland (her name is not Susan) has been visiting for the past (2?, not sure how to count this) week(s). I hope we are doing something BIG and fun, or something..........we'll see.
MLK Day. Get to perform with NCE and Ramsey Lewis (he's no Mavis Staples) but still pretty kool. Should be a fun day.
that's about it.
I'll probably do a Youtube Mania Type thingy.......I don't know....

Randoms.
until I am the big 2-1!!!
ask me if I'm excited, cuz I AM!!!!
I honor of my proximal 21-ness, I decided to watch this film entitled 21.
okay so like the first 30 mins of this movie was really weird. it reminded me too much of college life, like including the math and everything (yeha that was really descriptive). Overall though, this move was pretty kool. I give it a 7/8 outta 10. But then I looked it up on wikipedia (a random habit of mine after watching a new movie) and people totally hated it. It was a good film kept me interesting for about 2 hours, that's pretty hard to do, most of the time.
Also this thanksgiving break, I watched way more sports (there was nothing else on)
like at any sports game, I stopped and watch it for at least a minute.
I watched 2 NU football games (repeats of our wins against Illinois & Wisconsin). Couple of NFL and NBA games. 1 NU women's basketball (did you kno we were 4-0, until that game? also we beat #10 DePaul, when did they get good?). 2 NU Men's basketball (against Norte Dame & Iowa State, both which we won, making us champions in the chicago inviatation challenge thingy, awesome!).
why is this relevant?
Because this is coming from a guy, who has a kid, I distinctly remember this, I believed that all sports were stupid, all you did was kick that ball around back and forth (I think this was because I didn't play any sports). and to imagine myself about 10/11 years later watching basketball and football like all thanksgiving weekend pretty much just weird/impossible.
But I think this entrance into the "sports world", comes from my love of NU football, which all comes from NUMB, interesting how one decision to be in the marching band changed my life completely, although I'm sure any other decision in college would have been just has life changing.
okay that's it...........

Updation about Unreleated Things...
------------
Ronnie (the Star Wars nerd guy) won HOH (big suprise, like really). so that means Chima is safe. kool. I'm not sure what's gonna happen with Ronnie as HOH, hopefully he'll be smart (hahaha get it he's apart of the Brain clique?) and put up an Athlete (Jessie or Russell would be good to me at least). The game has begun . yeha that's it.
=================================================================
Do the Right Thing
The ending was a little crazy, thoug, very dramatic from outta nowhere. Def a Black-tackular movie. I just thought it would be more funny then it wuz for some strange odd reason.
Oh, Spike Lee is in the movie, and I was watchin' it and I was like why he gotta be in all his films, cuz he's a terrible actor, like fo real. but anywayz this is definitely going on the list.
=================================================================
so today as I was cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom ( i don't know for some reason I just felt like doing that. well the dishes were piled high, i really didn't have to clean the bathroom though), I was listening to Musicals on my Ipod (Wicked, Sweeny Todd, the Wiz, Dreamgirls, Annie , Bye Bye Birdie, etc.) And I just began to think about how much I miss the THEATRE. I really enjoyed the stage in high school, it was really funn (duh, or else i would've done it).
ThereFORE I'm thinking about trying to do some type of play thing when I head back to NU. That would be SO kool. but yeha..I was totally in Musical mood today.
===================================================================
In both of these games we won (GO 'CATS!). One against Purdue (Pur- Don't) & the other Ohio State (boo!), both of these were amazing games that I hadn't seen before. My question: why couldn't they play like that in the all games (especially the Illinois Game) ? they were just amazing. Hopefully we get better this year coming up.
Watching these NU basketball games made me think of football. and I am so excited for the football season. I love football, especially NU. but NU has really allowed me to enjoy football all around. but um yeha excited about that even though it's far away.
Found some highlight videos of those basketball games, watch. (Craziness, good crazy though)
Against Pur-Don't
================
actually these topics were releated BB-> racism -> Do the Right Thing & Musicals -> NU -> NU sports. yeha they did.
anywayz

Random Rambling.....
1. the bulls lost the series in game 7 (omg!)
[oh did you know the bulls coach last name is DEL NEGRO and he's white...interesting..]
2. there's this thing called swine flu going around
3. i recently re-discovered this blog called Stuff Black People Hate
no longer active....but there's still some funny stuff on it....
like this post about a thing black people hate:
MILK
"Here are three simple facts that fuck up each and every day of my life:
- I am lactose intolerant
- Everything that tastes good has milk in it
- I have no self-control
For whatever reason, most black people are lactose intolerant. Lactose intolerance is a condition by which you can’t digest certain sugars found in dairy products, rendering your butthole a cannon of unrelenting stank within ten minutes of consuming any of the following delicious foods:
Milk, cheese, butter, ice cream, pizza, Guinness, white russians, cereal, cheesecake, pudding, chocolate, coffee creamer, sour cream (this curses everything from baked potatoes to fajitas), cream of wheat, creme brule, eclaires, custard donuts, and pussy.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to eat anything in an American diet that doesn’t have fucking milk in it, so black people all over the country have had to find a way to deal with the persistent threat of farting loudly and stinkily in public. This explains a lot of negro modes of dress and even physiology. Allow me to elaborate:
Unlike women, men generally enjoy farts. We also don’t like clenching our ass cheeks together* (the standard method of fart suppression) because racist jerks might think we’re preparing for a prison term. As such, we tend to just let the farts out. Unfortunately, unlike normal farts whose timing and force are under the control of the farter, milk farts are self-actualized. They come charging out of your ass when, where, and however hard they want. If you’re not going to clench your cheeks, then you have to find a way to keep the fart from getting to other people’s noses. This explains the popularity of baggy clothing among black men.
Baggy pants create a neutral zone of air between the asshole and the air used by the general public that’s large enough to dissipate the power of the fart before it osmoses out of the pants. Since farts rise, large t-shirts draped over the buttocks provide a secondary buffer zone that all but eliminates the fart stank before it reaches the nose. A side effect of this is, of course, Stinky Britches.
As for the women, everyone knows that the trademark of the black woman is the big black booty. Where did this come from? It’s actually quite simple. Everyone, regardless of race, has had the experience of holding back a cataclysmic fart. It starts in your middle torso and hurts like a motherfucker, until it plows its way through your colon making for the sphincter (and making lots of awkward noises along the way). Once there, the fart literally lays siege to your asshole, hammering away at the opening like Grond breaking through the gates of Gondor.
Only the power of the woman’s cheek clench can repel the ass-ault. Since most black farts are milk farts and, therefore, require extreme effort to hold back, centuries of hardcore cheek clenching have caused natural selection to favor black women with big booties. Smaller bootied women are unable to clench their cheeks as hard, making it more likely for a milk fart (which is intolerably stinky) to escape mid-coitus and send potential mates running for the hills before insemination.
Some asshole at a university somewhere is going to read this blog and actually try to base a thesis on its theories. Jumping Jesus Christ…"
Really funny!
Make sure you check that blog out..........
but i cant leave without giving you a random pic!!
[in honor of Cinco De May....yeha kinda lame whatevs]
aight
PEACE & CHIcKEN GREASE!!!
