wow it's almost august.

i wanted to write this emotionally filled post about how I am truly terrified about having my own classroom. And TRULY being the one in charge. Like for student teaching it was different because ultimately really what went one was my mentor's decision. But I just don't know what I want to do or I guess what is 'right' for me to do. I guess I just don't like this idea of being a novice teacher. I want to be an experience, talented teacher already...I think it's just that I hate failing, but that's the only way I'm gonna grow soo...

And on top of that I'm moving to Evanston, and I'm gonna be completely on my own. I guess it's just a big step, and I didn't think it would feel as big as it does. I mean I went to college for 4 years, pretty much away from home the whole time, I just thought it would be easier than it feels. but it's not. Being at home for like 2 months makes me miss that security even more, that support. And I know my parent's will still be supporting me, but in a different way (financially not as much, which I guess don't wanna really worry about and I prolly won't, until I see all those bills). And each day that gets closer to my move-in day, it hints me slightly more that these big steps are approaching.

and I mean, I miss college already, I can't really believe it's over. And it's not helping that I'm moving back to the place where I went to school. I knew this would happen. Of course graduation day I was really happy I was done. But now I realize, I met some amazing  people, had some amazing experiences, and I'm done with that, moving on this next step of teaching, and totally different life.

But although I'm truly scared of being a teacher, moving on my own, and missing college, I know in the end I'll be alright. And in about two months I'll be so busy, everything will be routine, and I'll have some amazing experiences that I'll be truly happy that I am where I am.......But until then I guess I just need to pray and focus my energies elsewhere........

Was that emotional enough????

This week was VBS at my church. Realized I'm so glad I'm teaching high schoolers. those 6,7,8 year olds. Nu-uh.Could not be me. I would slap one of those kids....for reals.

Announcement of sorts
Having a Graduation/Going Away/Housewarming celebration. More so my mom is. I don't really care about the celebration I just want gifts/money............should be fun though. I have to do a 'powerpoint' but I think my mom meant slideshow. well at least that's what I plan on doing...hahaha I'm so lazy.

also this is my 299th post........it's taken me forever to get to this 300. next post is gonna be grand slash i'm totally lying because I don't even know when the next time I'm gonna post....and who says grand anymore? dang cuh...

I got a place to live!!!

It's all coming together!
Yeah.
I'll be staying in Evanston, which is funny cause at first I didn't really want to.
And I'm also paying more than I wanted, but it's all good gee.
And I'm not moving in  until Aug 15, which is later than I wanted.
So basically I kinda got a place that I wasn't looking for.
My place is gonna be dope, hopefully.

I just don't have anything, well I have a bed, tv, and a dresser. But I don't have any furniture or anything really for my apartment. But to say the most I'm pretty excited, and ready to get outta this place.....like you don't even know........

I think about that place everyday, how it'll be my place, I know I can go to it and not be bothered with anyone. I'm just excited for the most part.......

this summer I'm weirdly becoming a 'reading machine', at least when it comes to books. I've read a second book and now on my third.
I think I just need to find stuff that interest me. Novels do not. that's for sure. haha, more realistic, life applicable stuff works for me I think.
My second book is called Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea by Charles Seife.

It basically chronicles the history of the idea of zero (or the idea of void, nothingness) which also brings about the idea of infinity. But this books gave a pretty good history of not only the number zero, but also mathematics, which I think is really interesting for me going to be a teacher, because I didn't know this stuff at first. now I can share random tidbits with my students such as Pythagoras was part of a secret society of mathematicians/philosophers who totally killed a guy for talking about irrational numbers....or that Indians started Algebra, but it really didn't catch on until the Muslims took over the Western world..

This books is also interesting because it connects the idea of math, philosophy, and religion, which some people may see as separate things nowadays. I think this book just showed me that people were really invested in math, because it was closely connected to their beliefs of life, and that really why the stuff we study has stuck around for so long. Not so much that it's all actually true. I mean people had arguments over math.

Anyway I loved reading the book, it just showed me math is rooted in humanity and its not just this abstract stuff that came outta no where, which I guess is the point I would also like to demonstrate to my students as a result from reading this book.

also Big Brother 13 started a week ago. This cast has 3 black people, one which got voted off today. yeah.
Started with 8 newbies, and 6 veteran returning to the house and tons of twists. I'm def not going to be updating here or anywhere about the show. Not as invested as I used to be, but I'll be watching.....

It's seems with every passing week of classes, it becomes harder and harder for me to do school work.
i really don't like doing these assignments.....
and I really have no motivation....I literally understand maybe how my student feels about homework and assignments......but they just don't do it.
I mean I'll finish the assignments soon enough....or late enough....depends on how ya thinking about it....
I really just wanna be done....I've probably said this on every post, but that's cuz it true...

But really I don't want to talk about that....so new topic.

I got a NEW PHONE. It's a Motorala charm with T-mobile.

 I love it. It's touch screen, but still had the keypad so I can type stuff. Did I say I love it?. It's so cool. The only thing I probably shouldn't gotten my own account, I didn't think about it. Because of course I had to have internet and then my parents said, 'we ain't got no money.......etc. etc.'. But I'll probably do that once I get my job and stuff.

speaking of which, I need to figure that out. I should hear back from Evanston this week hopefully. In the meantime, I should've been filling other applications, did I? nope. oh wells. But I finally made a list of schools to apply to, which I can now do. Aren't lists great?

It's almost the end of the 2010

which means my blog-versary has either passed or is approaching.
(after getting over my initial laziness and looking it up, it's December 17th,  sooo I'll be posting something on that day probably)
either way I can't believe I stayed with this thing this long,
If I believe this is gonna be year 3. Wow.

Like so much has changed since I was a sophomore,
I was at a totally different place, totally different frame of mind.
It also makes me feel so old. I mean I have been 22 for 8 days,
I don't know if that means I have experience or anything (it doesn't).

But this blog meant something totally different to me then, than it does now. 
And I don't update as often as I used to,
I mean who has time when your as busy as I,
But when I started, it was just something to do, something to be random with, to have fun with,
and just try to be kool, i guess?
But now I use it more of as a place of reflection. It's where/when I can think about significant moments in my life, and it's really kool...i guess?

As i develop into this full adulthood mode, I'll try to keep this up.
Maybe, I'm not keeping any promises...

Ramblings about Various Things

Sleeping In

(Baby Koala Bear Sleeping) 
Sleeping in Today was Amazing, it was the first day since I got in Colorado that I wasn't up before 8 AM.
I woke up at 10 today, and then just laid in the bed for 2 hours: AMAZING!
Hopefully all my weekends won't be like that, but this weekend definitely I just needed to chill.

Soccer
I watched the soccer game today (the second time in my life I've actually watched one, first one was USA vs UK). Unfortunately we lost, to Ghana. It would've been kool to see them continue. What I find amazing is how things look when the do replays, they like slow it down and zoom in, and it's like totally crazy like all the positions their bodies be in. Soccer is definitely no joke, physically. But this is:

Weather
It's been kool being out in here in Colorado. Today was the first time it rained since I've been here. All the others day were HOT and sunny. But it's actually really really beautiful, esp. the campus the school is on. SO pretty. I hope it stays that way, although I do need a little rain every now and then in my life.


Persons Unknown

But um, oh, I wanted to talk about this new show called Persons Unknown, airs on NBC on Mondays. It's about this seven people who get like kidnapped and sent to this ghost town. they basically are trying to escape, but they have no idea why they are there, who it is that's watching them (there's camera's everywhere). And they tried to escape many times, but they were all unsuccessful. I like the story, but not so much the acting, especially the main character lady, SO BAD.

Also another problem in like the first two episodes (there's only 3 so far), the main male is white (no surprise) but he was like seen as the leader, he was doing everything to help them escape, and the black guy (who is a soldier) was kinda like his 'slave', from my point-of-view, cuz he was like yes sir I can do that (no exactly, but you'll have to watch it to get what I'm talking bout), but I figured that was coming from him the army thing, which in a way slavery sorta. Also the black guy is Muslim, which I thought that was interesting. There's also this blonde chick, who I think was like drunk when she got kidnapped, which was kinda funny.Then there's This CRAZY lady, she was like in the psychiatric place, the rich guy, and the sketchy-looking guy. But um I'll be watching this hopefully every week. or at least catching up on the weekends.

Big Brother
Speaking of shows, Big Brother (I can't believe all last summer, I updated about that) is coming back on july 8th, don't think I'll be able to keep up with the episodes during the week, hopefully I'll be able to watch it on the weekends. There's no info on the houseguests or the house yet, there will definitely be something by next week.

I just wanted to update, cuz sometimes I fill the need to type my thoughts out

I did finally see Slumdog Millionaire,

which was a very good film. Like I saw why people enjoyed, very entertaining. yeha..........................

I realized something today, I love taking showers ( I know random right).

It's something about the solidarity, it's a place I know I can go to think about things. I think I actually get alot thinking (whatever that means) done in the shower. Showers just make me feel clean (duh dumbass), its something about standing there naked, alone. it just takes me back to the core (of an apple?). It's like I am who I am in that shower, nothing can be changed, covered up. And the water rinses all the dirt of yesterday: mistakes and such and makes me all clean for a brand new day (whoa this is really awkward....sorry) (wait, not really). yeha so I like showers.

we lost (AGAIN) yesterday. We're now 2-2...umm... I'm not sure what's going on, but the 'Cats are disappointing me BIG TIME. They need to get their act together Soon, but of course I still support them whether they win or lose, cuz they're my 'CATS (ahhhhh...).

kool, random thing was Steve Urkel 
(yes, "Did I do that?" Steve Urkel, also known in real life as Jaleel White)  was at the football game, WHY? I have yet to figure that out but I could come up with something....give me a second....okay:

so Mr. White is friends with one of the player's father, they go way back like high school, like they used to pick their noses together and play hopstoch all the time until White landed the Family Matters gig, then they kinda had a falling out, cuz the player's father had no one to pick his nose, and then he almost committed suicide from his devasting booger-filled snout-sniffer, but after Family Matters went off the air, White realized that the father guy  was is only true friend, so to make it up to him he game to the football game to support the Wildcats.

yes that's why he was there....does that sound probable? I think so....

 for the president's convocation......well he's gonna be apart of the inauguration concert, I'm so excited for that because I listen to John Legend (I mean he's  totally on my Itunes) , I'm not sure though how good he is live though......I just want him to sing GREEN LIGHT...

also NU is doing Little Shop of Horrors

(which is like one of favorites musicals of all time, after like 5 others ones...but it don't matter). anywayz I'm going to audition for it in Janurary. so EXCITE!

So I've Come to the Realization...

That this school year is gonna be fun, but quite crazy.

I have tons of things to do, in a limited amount of time (imposible?, maybe). Mainly I have big commitments to 3 organizations (and I want to do more).

but I'm up for the challenge. I mean I rather be doing something than doing absolutely nothing at this point (cuz I did nothing all summer).

but like I was saying...this year is gonna be pretty fun, I'm staying with friends & basically I just plan to enjoy myself tons. But it's gonna be crazy cause I'm gonna be doing so much. but that's my goal. Basically when I graduate I want to look back and see that I had tons of fun, but that I also did things to further the community (whatever that means)...but yeha.....

wow sometimes I can get extra-serious...and it scares the living day-lites outta me (who comes up with this expressions anywayz....??) um yeha that's it...

BB Updation

Jeff won HOH (Kevin came really close this time, I was rooting for him). Jeff put up Russell & Michele. He's secretly trying to get Russell out ( I love backdooring). This should mean that he will go to the end with either one of those two groups (the other Natalie & Kevin). It'll be interesting to see. Jeff is definitely a bold player..

More than half way through, there's only 6 people left: Jeff, Jordan, Kevin, Natalie, Russell, Michele. This means one of these people are gonna win this game & the 500 grand. I didn't think any of these people would win...but hey, if I had to pick someone to win I guess it would be..Jeff, although you never know what gonna happen in the BB house....

This time in Indiana, went with my mom & 2 of aunts. It was fun. Cuz my mom & her sisters are crazy! I didn't win anything again (but I got really, really close plenty of times). I laughed really hard cuz the guy kept saying "Bonanza" the whole time we was there.(Bonanza is the ending game at this particular bingo hall)..and this other lady was walking around saying something else, (these are the people that work for the bingo, not people playing bingo, they was just selling these other games.). And me and mom just started laughing. I was crying while dabbing numbers..it was crazy...I'm kinda upset though cuz now all my clothes smell like smoke...cuz apparently in Indiana you can smoke indoors.....

BB Updation

So Natalie & Lydia on the block. Instead of having the double elimination they had a "special" episode, where POV, eviction, and HOH took place in one episode. Lydia was evicted from the BB House, now joining Jesse in the Jury House. And apparently her and Jesse did something under the sheets that one time (yes). And now she's upset at him because she figured out he was playing her & Natalie.

I'm not sure who got the HOH, it was an endurance (let's see). I'm personally rooting for Kevin ( and a little bit Natalie) I think I just like the underdog(s). I mean they don't seem to have a chance but somehow they win. But that's not gonna happen cuz apparently Jeff got HOH. So he might put up Kevin and Natalie, or maybe Natalie & Russell (cuz Kevin told a lie about him) well see should be a juicy week.

Cats Football Camp

Let me just say if for the 100th time. I'm am so excited for some Wildcat football. 16 days till the season opener against Towson (which I plan to play in the band at, we'll see). Today on the Big Ten Network, they had a preview of the wildcat football at Kenosha, WI where they have camp. Looks like our defense should be solid. And we have some good offense players. Not really sure who's gonna be the main RB or WB, will definitely be an interesting season. I'm ready.

Hey another day in my world....

VBS Updation

Pretty kool, Still really enjoying teaching the kids, some crazy stuff going with some VBS staff (heard from director's mouth herself: people showing up late, blah blah), but it's all good. It'll all be done in 2 days. Today's lesson was about Peter denying Christ (well the whole week has been about Peter and his relationship with Jesus) and basically I'm like what was wrong with this people, jokingly.

Like Jesus was like to Peter you're going to denying me 3 times before the rooster crows, and Peter's like NO, I would never to that (I'm sure he was very serious). But he sure did deny him three times. But I mean how are you supposed to respond about that to Jesus, "Yeha, you know what Jesus, I am". But anywayz basically the lesson was about forgivness, even though Peter denied him 3 times, Jesus still forgave him. Amazing. So forgiving.

But yeha that was today's lesson. I remember Tyler Perry talked about forgivness on one his plays, that's a heavy and really serious topic that people don't really recognize. People be carry around stuff against people that they should just let go, it ain't no good for you to walk around with that stuff. Forgive and let it go. Cause it ain't doing nobody no good.

And I think that's becoming more apparent for me being a teacher, you gotta realize that people are human, they make mistakes, that's the whole point of forgivness, ain't nobody gonna be perfect, we try, but we not. So why hold on to this stuff, that's pretty much gon happen anywayz, I mean if ain't one thing then it's another. but yeha....

this was the first thing I watched today, there was nothin on tv. Anywayz, so remember how I was saying Ronnie was thinking about backdooring Russell? He didn't do it (SUCKA!). I mean I kinda didn't want him to do it cuz I felt like people were ganging upon Russell and they wanted him to go for personal reasons (stupid), like he cussed Lydia out or something. And Lydia started like crying and was like "no one should be talked to like that". I think she had to be faking, you can't be expecting people to meet 12 strangers, and not expect to cussed out at some point, i mean yeha. so she wanted him out, and I'm like really?.

But anywayz Ronnie put up,Jordan (the ditzy blonde, like really she didn't/doesn't know what people mean when they say "it's a quarter till", basically she didn't know what a "quarter" is in clock time) so now it's Jordan up against Laura, both of the Popular clique. Really don't care who goes home, but of course, I'll be watching on Thursday, no Friday, I guess.

VBS Update

2nd day completeo! yeha! pretty kool, alot like yesterday, but still had fun nevertheless. We pretty much had the same children from yesterday, so I was really trying to know their names & charactersitcs now. There's a couple of "bad" ones: one that just wants to talk all the time, and the other is just like crazy...

It's kinda hard, to me, to teach kids about God, well not hard, but just really difficult, unless you really make it at a level where they can understand, but I think most of them get the basic concept, they just don't seem like their paying attention. I don't know. pretty kool day, today.

The Coach of the Wildcats was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, not for coaching, but for being a player @ NU in '95. He wons some awards that I don't want to look the name up. But anywayz dude was a beast on defense. This once again makes me excited about NU football season. AHH!

BB UPDATE

So this episode of BB was so much better than the previous 2. People are really starting to play the game, which I still think its too early, unless you're on the chopping block. But hey whatever. I loved this episode because there was drama, that's basically the only reason I watch it. Like people were arguing and its only the first week (CRAZINESS!). Also one dude, I believe his name is Ronnie, almost got caught up in a lie. And that was pretty good. well, he did get caught but the other dude just didn't say it. All this like happened in the last half of the episode (HOW LAME!).

Also, I've come to the conclusion (w/ the help of Wikipedia), that there is 2 (3?!) black people in the house. Chima (1), Kevin (1/2 black and 1/2 japanese), Russell (1/2 black and I guess 1/2 white). If you had up halves and such you get 2, but should each person be counted as black or mixed or whanot?? (idk). But that's kool I guess. But still there's hardly ever any obvious black males on the show. Kool season so far, though.

Summer and such..

so basically I didn't know what to update about...
so I guesss I would ramble on about my summer....
SO basically I haven't got close to doing anything of things I planned to do.
(Meaning I'm procrastinating BIG TIME)
This summer has turned into every other summer that I have experience in my life.
AND THAT wasn't supposed to happen at all....

But I think it cuz I just like to be happy or something like that. And what I'm doing at the moment makes me realy happy soo yeha....
but basically I'm not doing absolutely nothing... sad :(

Hopefully I can get my life (my summer) together before I just wither and die ( and by die, I mean cotinue in my same-ness-ness) .

On a Serious Note..

so recently did a text cloud on my blog...
(i did this for my final project in my Comp Sci class...check it out here..not sure if the thing actually works..but whatev.)
oh a text cloud, is like a representation of words from a text or whatever...the words that appear most frequently are the largest..the ones that appear least frequently are smaller....yeha..

i see that my blog is really not about anything at all...
you know for some strange reason i wanted the text cloud...
to be like so insightful about my blog (and essentially about me...because to me...my blog = my life.... you know i pour my soul in to this blog...ever time i decided to make a post....<----UM JOKING) anywayz....you know thinking about it more...about this blog in relation to myself....the text cloud, the words of my blog (me) does represent me....im funny, random, crazy. but if only this blog could be serious (and by saying that am I wishing I was serious...i don't know....sometimes i do)....but there's not that much serious-ness in me for me to continue to write about this serious-ness....you know right now i perceive that in this post right here...it.is very serious...you know im doing some self-reflection and analysis.....you kno...(but in actuality, you probably don't cuz ur an idiot.....yeap) [ Some of things you may have read above may not make sense but I was too lazy to write it in a way where you could understand it]
